WANTED!  Service Team Volunteers!

ALAMN Service Teams serve a vital role in implementing and advancing the Chapter’s mission and goals.  We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate members to share their knowledge, skills and creativity to support and promote our chapter’s success.

As part of a Service Team, you’ll also enhance your ALA and ALAMN membership in many ways:

  • strengthen your leadership skills
  • have a voice in the decisions that the committees make
  • contribute to projects that improve the chapter’s operations
  • connect with your fellow members on a deeper level

Get involved today by contacting the chair or co-chair of a Service Team!  Not sure which one is right for you?  Feel free to attend several different meetings before deciding.  Here’s where you can get involved:

Membership Development Team – This Service Team is tasked with creating and implementing member recruitment and retention plans and welcoming new members and helping them get the most out of their membership.   If you like getting to know new people, this Service Team could be for you. (Chairs: Joey Monson and Chong Lee)

Education Team - The Education Team is responsible for providing high-quality education content, opportunities, and speakers. This Service Team plans the semi-monthly general meetings and the annual leadership meeting. You'll play an integral part in selecting topics, choosing engaging speakers, and gathering the chapter together to learn and network. (Chairs: Lisa Hellem and Pete Tass)

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Access Team – Members of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Access Team are passionate about DEI&A. They provide resources to the legal community to strengthen DEI&A efforts at our firms and in our legal departments. One special project that the DEI&A committee plans is an annual career fair targeted towards students in area city high schools. The effort is intended to help to build a pipeline of students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in legal careers. (Chairs: Kathy Hubbard and Maria Harvat)

Community Service Team– Community service is a core value of ALAMN.  This Service Team coordinates community service events throughout the year on behalf of the chapter.  Past initiatives have included serving meals at Ronald McDonald House and Simpson Shelter, creating blessing bags for Avenues for Homeless youth, and assisting high school students with mock interviews.   This Service Team provides the opportunity to connect with fellow member and business partners while giving back to our community. (Chairs: Nancy Lewer and Sarah Ptacek)

Business Partner Relations & Conference Team – This Service Team oversees the business partnership sponsorship program and works alongside our business partners to develop long-term relationships between sponsors and members. The BPRCT Team also plans the association’s summer and fall socials, in addition to other regular events. This team is also responsible for planning the annual education conference in close collaboration with our business partners. (Chairs: Catherine Gorr and Kelly Thaemert)

Get involved today - you’ll be glad you did!
