ALAMN Service Teams serve a vital role in implementing and advancing the Chapter’s mission and goals. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate members to share their knowledge, skills and creativity to support and promote our chapter’s success. As part of a Service Team, you’ll also enhance your ALA and ALAMN membership in many ways:
Get involved today by contacting the chair or co-chair of a Service Team! Not sure which one is right for you? Feel free to attend several different meetings before deciding. Here’s where you can get involved: Membership Development Team – This Service Team is tasked with creating and implementing member recruitment and retention plans and welcoming new members and helping them get the most out of their membership. If you like getting to know new people, this Service Team could be for you. (Chair: Joey Monson) Education& Conference Team - If you like to plan large scale events, this Service Team could be for you. The Education and Conference Team plans the annual educational conference and coordinates the education sessions at the semi-monthly general meetings and annual leadership meeting. You’ll play an integral part in selecting the topics, choosing engaging speakers, and gathering the chapter together to learn and network. (Chairs Lisa Hellem and Pete Tass) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Access Team – Members of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Access Team are passionate about DEI&A. They provide resources to the legal community to strengthen DEI&A efforts at our firms and in our legal departments. One special project that the DEI&A committee plans is an annual career fair targeted towards students in area city high schools. The effort is intended to help to build a pipeline of students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in legal careers. (Chair: Kathy Hubbard) Community Service Team– Community service is a core value of ALAMN. This Service Team coordinates community service events throughout the year on behalf of the chapter. Past initiatives have included serving meals at Ronald McDonald House and Simpson Shelter, creating blessing bags for Avenues for Homeless youth, and assisting high school students with mock interviews. This Service Team provides the opportunity to connect with fellow member and business partners while giving back to our community. (Chairs: Love Vieira and Pat Stender) Business Partner Relations Team – This Service Team oversees the business partnership sponsorship program and works alongside our business partners to develop long-term relationships between sponsors and members. The BPR Team also plans the association’s summer and fall socials, in addition to other regular events. (Chairs: Catherine Gorr and Kelly Thaemert) Get involved today - you’ll be glad you did! |
