Young Professionals Lunch: Values, Balance, Fulfillment

Presenter: Deb Halvorson, owner and founder of Through the Jungle, LLC

Values are who we are. Our values are the internal compass pointing out what it means to be true to yourself. You are living your values – or not – every moment of every day. When we honor our values on a regular and consistent basis life is good. Life is in balance. Life is fulfilling. We feel confident and strong. The possibilities are endless. BUT what if we don’t even truly know what our values are? How do we know if we’re living a balanced and fulfilled life or just getting by? This workshop is all about discovering and identifying your values – the ones you already have within you. It’s designed to help you experience your values rather than just picking out words from a list. We’ll determine which values you are honoring, which values you are ignoring, and which values are being stepped on. We’ll do an exercise to help you see how balanced your life is or is not. We’ll discuss taking action based upon your values not your circumstances.

Values + Balance = Fulfillment.

About the Coach: “My experience is my guide. My training is my qualification. My story is my credibility.”

Deborah Halvorson is the owner and founder of Through the Jungle, LLC. which is a coaching business focused on relapse prevention while maneuvering through the jungle of life.

Prior to founding Through the Jungle, LLC., Deb received her Bachelor‘s Degree and served for over 30 years as a litigation paralegal specializing in family law. For 27 of those 30 years, Deb walked the halls of one of the top Minneapolis law firms: Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. As a family law paralegal, Deb learned quickly how to function under pressure and to deal with people in crisis. The experience and skills gained from working with clients in midst of the divorce process have proved to be invaluable.

In 2016, Deb left the paralegal profession to pursue the second chapter in her career: Coaching. She achieved the Certified Professional Co-Active Coach® (CPCC) designation through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). She also earned the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential with the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Part of Deb’s personal story involves treatment and recovery from the disease of alcoholism. She has over 35 years of continuous sobriety and still actively participates in a recovery program. She understands the stress and difficulty of trying to stay sober in a culture that loves alcohol. Deb is also a trauma survivor. She understands the courage it takes to face the past and the ever-looming temptation to return to what’s familiar even if it’s harmful. She’s been through the jungle – and knows the way out.
