A virtual presentation with Rebecca Frenning and Lauri Brachmann of Pope Design Group: WELL Certification & Ratings.

This presentation provides an overview of the International WELL Building Institute and its certification programs, highlighting how the WELL Building Standard, WELL Health-Safety Rating, and WELL Equity Rating promote healthier, safer, and more equitable environments.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explain the purpose, history, and certification programs of the International WELL Building Institute. Participants will be able to describe the goals of the International WELL Building Institute, including how it supports human health, well-being, and performance in the built environment through the WELL Building Standard and WELL Ratings.
2. Identify the key concepts, core categories and performance strategies of the WELL Building Standard, WELL Health-Safety Rating, and WELL Equity Rating. Participants will be able to recognize major concepts of each certification program and understand how they apply to building design, operations, and occupant well-being.
3. Using Pope Design Group as a case study, describe the certification process and implementation strategies for projects pursuing the WELL Health-Safety Rating and the WELL Equity Rating. Participants will be able to outline the steps to achieve a WELL Rating, including documentation, verification, stakeholder collaboration, and strategies for integrating WELL Health-Safety and WELL Equity requirements along with identifying the organizational benefits for building a culture that supports employees overall physical and mental well-being.
