Build Sandwiches – Build Hope

ALAMN is pleased to partner with Allan Law (the Sandwich Man), retired school teacher and founder of Minneapolis Recreation Development (known as Love One Another) for the following community service opportunities:

1)         Make sandwiches: Join ALAMN members and business partners on January 31, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Robins Kaplan (800 LaSalle Ave, 28th floor of LaSalle Plaza, Minneapolis) to make approximately 500 sandwiches. The Sandwich Man will be there in person to meet volunteers and pick up the sandwiches. Register now

2)         Donate money: Individual and firm monetary donations are being accepted towards Allan’s $30,000 goal to raise money for their MTC Bus Token Fund (they raised about half so far). He gets a deal from Metro Transit and distributes about 300 bus tokens a night to homeless living outdoors so they can take refuge from the streets and shelter from inclement weather. Click this link to find out more about Allan’s mission, and learn how he delivers sandwiches from 9 pm to 10 am every night for 363 days a year, making as many as 50 stops a night. When asked why he does this, Allan’s response was “Somebody has to care.”
